In the State of Florida it is usual and customary for the Seller to pick the Title company, because the Seller pays the Title premium at closing. However, if a buyer chooses to pay the Title premium and closing fee, then according to the boilerplate terms in the FAR/BAR Real Estate contract, the Buyer would then be entitled to pick their own title company.
Remember, price is unimportant if your loan does not close. The goal is to own a home. Look for a solid balance of high competence and competitive rates.
